Shoe Ornament

Today I want to share with you my shoe ornament. First I printed off a free shoe pattern. Actually, it was a boot that I cut down to make the shoe. Then I traced that pattern onto chipboard so I would have a sturdy base. After that, I traced the chipboard onto craft paper and cut 2 pieces (make sure you reverse for the 2nd side, especially if you don't have double-sided paper). After adhering the papers onto the chipboard, I hot glued flat-backed pearls around the perimeter of the shoe. I glued lace to the top of the shoe. Then finished embellishing it. I made 8 of these for gifts.

Thanks for joining me today! Blessings!  Jeanie

This week the challenge (#47) is Anything Goes!

Our sponsors this week are:

SLS Lines

Prize: 3 Digital Images

AND

Star Stampz
Prize: 3 Digital Images

I love this image! I just wasn't sure what I was going to do with her! So, when all else fails, either make a card or a mixed media canvas! Once I got started, it was fun. I painted on white canvas black acrylic. Then, using Paper Temptress paper (Cryogen White Iridescent), I printed off the image and colored her in using Prismacolors. No water coloring this time, as the paper has a slick feel to it and it would have smeared. But that paper is OH, so gorgeous! I love it! And then I used the Red Pepper Classic Linen from PT also. I cut a hole in the paper and layered Belle inside of it.  I had the red rhinestone trim in my stash, but the lace trim I got from Lighthouse stop n' shop via Facebook.  The flowers I bought from Wild Orchard Crafts. And, of course....I used the beautiful butterflies and Diamond Glass Glitter from Reneabouquets (where else??).

So....head on over to Crafty Gals Corner Challenges, and make your own project! It's ANYTHING GOES! I can't wait to see what you create!

This week I'm entering this project into the following challenges:

CropStopBlog - Anything Goes
Decorate to Celebrate - Anything Goes Decorate for Anything
Moo-Mania & More - Lots of Layers

Paper Temptress DT Project Share

I love doing Pocket Letters (creator Janette Lane)! So, since I was doing one for a swap, I thought I'd use the beautiful Paper Temptress paper to make it. :-D I used the Spirit Red Feltweave, the Basis Olive, and the Cryogen White Iridescent. These papers are so easy to work with! I also used the Red Satin with Gold Edge ribbon. This pocket page is actually a baseball card protector page with 9 pockets. In each pocket a card is cut to 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" and placed inside the pocket. You can use sold or printed cardstock, preferably a color or print on both sides. Decoration is whatever you want it to be....embossing (wet or dry), stickers, diecuts, etc.). And then on the other side you simply add whatever little goodies you want in each pocket. Just be sure to leave one open so you can put a little note about yourself in it.
If you've never tried one...you really should!

Challenge #46 for Crafty Gals Corner Challenges: Use Scraps (11/18)

This week the challenge is Use Scraps!  You remember....all those pieces of paper...some tiny, some large, some in-between. What do you do with them? Just about anything!

Our sponsors this week are:

Prize: Digital Enjoy the Ride Stamp Set

Prize: $25 Gift Certificate

Prize: $10 Gift Certificate

Prize: 3 Digital Images

So, here is my project for this week's challenge. I did use the STAMPlorations digital/sentiment Framed Pumpkin and leftover scrap papers from Paper Temptress I had used in a previous project for Crafty Gals Corner.

Here you see that I have the framed pumpkin. After using my Prima Watercolors to color it, I trimmed around the black frame, then layered the pumpkin onto the Retro Silver Lustre from Paper Temptress
then layered that on top of the Eclipse Black, leaving enough space to put my Autumn Blessings sentiment from STAMPlorations. I then layered the black on top of the Vista Metallic paper. My sentiment was printed out on the Cryogen White Iridescent (LOVE this paper!).  Now, I had already used a lot of my Black Twigs & Weeds overlay, so I had to definitely work with what scraps I had of that. So, I just trimmed some of them out and framed my pumpkin with them. I was happy with the results!

I hope you enjoyed this project! I can't wait to see what you do with your scraps!

Blessings, Jeanie DT

Hello, fellow crafters! This is Week #45! (Already!) The challenge for this week is Thankful or Thank You!

Our sponsors this week are:

My Besties
Prize: 3 of the images that DT used

AND
Prize: 2 Digital Images

For my project on this challenge, I chose to do another card. This time it's a Thankful card. Mine is "Give Thanks". I cut out a 4 1/2"x12" white cardstock and folded it in half, making it a 4 1/2"x6" card, finished. Then I took a 6x6" piece of printed cardstock from the BoBunny Enchanted Harvest Collection and cut it 4 1/4x 5 3/4". Of course, I had already colored my digital with my Prismacolors. I then attached the sentiment and the embellishments, put some of Renea's glitter glass on it with one of her butterflies, and it was done! Nothing hard, very easy, and yet I'm very pleased with it! The paper, pearls, and rhinestones came from ScrapbookingwithMe Boutique, and the glass glitter and butterfly came from Reneabouquets

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you can join us for this challenge!

I'm also entering my project in the following challenges:

Are you ready for Challenge #44 at Crafty Gals Corner
This week the challenge is Autumn Hues!

Here is your inspiration for this challenge:

I love the colors for this project! It was loads of fun! Here is a picture of my project:

You're My Cup of Tea - Front of card

Inside of card

My husband and I will be celebrating our 44th anniversary in November, so I thought this was the perfect digital for that! And of course, the color hues are perfect for a man's card! I cut out a cardstock piece 8.5"x 4.25" and folded it in half. This card is entirely made out of paper from the Paper Temptress papers. I colored in my digital using partly Prima Watercolor pencils and partly Prismacolor pencils. I use them like watercolor pencils, and they work great!

To do the skin tone, I always start with a light flesh color, and then darken it up. I always start with the face. I then used several layers of color to obtain the color of the cup. Once I got the digital colored in, I layered a piece of the Autumn Breeze Overlay (Autumn Breeze), layered it on top of the card, then the digital. I then took a cotton ball and covered it with fingernail polish remover, then rubbed it onto the paper (inside, right). Then I placed the underside of the overlay on top of the inside card, and rubbed the overlay with a popsicle stick, then removed it and I now had a "printed" page full of leaves! The heart you see is a wood chip that I rubbed metallic rub-ons on. The ribbon you see if also from Paper Temptress, called Ivory Feather Edge. The little bits of red is Red Glossy.

I hope you enjoy this project. And I hope to see you in the challenge! I always love seeing your creative juices flowing!

Blessings,
Jeanie
