Now onto my project. I used the Hummingbird digital. As my health has not been too well lately, I thought I'd keep it as simple as possible this time around....until I'm up to par again.  

You can't tell it in the picture, but I do have a lot of glitter up there. I simply decorated it after the colors with lace, pearl trim, rose trim, lots of Reneabouquets glass glitter, and glossy accents. I also had a 2nd project for today....STAMPlorations "It's Your Day". 

I made it into a card that you can hook onto a gift bag. And of course, I had to use Stickles to give it some shine! :-)

I chose to use the Elegant Bride from Lemon Shortbread this week. Here she is:

I took some cardstock and cut a rounded card base. Then I adhered a paper doily on top of that, and in the middle of the doily, I cut out another circle and placed it into the center of the doily. I colored the image with my Prismacolors and used stickles to give it the Sparkle and Shine in the veil, bow, and overlay of her dress. I made a small chiffon ribbon, a paper rose, and adhered them to the side. With the rose I added some chiffon to each side. You can't really see it well, but I also put some netting behind the bride's head and let it drape down some. I had some rose ribbon with pearl centers so I placed them on either side of the bride. I had used distressed ink on the edges of the paper too.

Outlawz Color Challenge

It's that time again! Outlawz Color Challenge for this week! And this week's inspiration is brought to you by Aly, DT! Here is the inspiration:

For my inspiration, I used pink and crimson lake. My twist: Making the image into a printed cardstock sheet! Here is my project:

Dancing Chic

As you can see, I used the Dancing Chic for my project. I thought she needed to be on a tag, so I went to work on getting the chipboard cut out. I colored my image and saved her to my computer, and then I thought how fun it would be to make a "printed paper" with her image all over, with the words "Happy Dance" next to her. I used the Kraft paper Paper Temptress and mounted her onto that. I also made the 2 brown roses up there from the Kraft paper. I then mounted her and the kraft paper onto the printed cardstock. I made a pink rose and put it with the Kraft roses. The final touch was putting lace at the bottom with a very small rose trim and using the trim as it's "handle", too.

Loving Girl - SCS

Hello, crafty peeps! Today I want to share with you my DT card I did for The Scrapoholics Candy Shop. I wanted to make a card my granddaughter could give to her Dad, so I chose the "Loving Girl" digital. She is adorable! Espcially with her little hands forming the heart shape.  Here's my card:

Believe it or not, the tie shape of the card wasn't that hard. But I did have to use my ruler to make sure the sides and all were even. I first printed the digital onto some white cardstock, then folded it in half. Then I cut out a tie shape around her and colored her in. After I cut the initial shape of the card (the white), I placed it on top of some blue cardstock I had in my stash and cut around that (about 1/4"). I did some "stitching" around the card and added the sentiment on the card. And she was done!

The East Wind

The artist behind The East Wind digital images is known as Unky LaStrange. Unky makes her home in British Columbia, Canada with her wonderful daughter, Aurora, the love of her life and source of much inspiration. For my project this week, I chose to use the Day at the Park image from Sassy Designs Studios. She is adorable! Instead of making a card, I decided to make a tag with her instead. Here she is:

I wanted to make a mixed media tag, so after I colored her with my Prismacolors, I measured her height and width, and cut out a white piece of paper a little bigger than her. I used my Prima water soluble pastels in the background. Once that was dry, I wanted to add a texture to that paper, so I used my Liquitex Glass Beads all over it. I didn't have to do it all over, but I was experimenting....what can I say? ;-)  I placed my image on top of that before it dried so it would adhere onto the paper. Once it was dried, it almost felt leathery. It was pretty awesome!

I made all the roses up there, along with the buds out of paper I had in my stash. The bicycle was orange, but I used my Stampendous Shabby White embossing enamel on it to change the color. I got that at the Scrapbooking with M.E. Boutique (Facebook page). I cut out a pink piece of paper to place it onto the chipboard I was using as the foundation of the tag (the same pink as the roses). I adhered it to the chipboard, then adhered the image piece on top of that. I hot glued lace from the Lighthouse stop n' shop Facebook page, added some rhinestone swirls (hard to see because of the glass beads), leaves to the flowers, pearl drop beads, and pink trim on top of the pearls and as a handle. I was gifted the pink trim. 

She took me a while to do, since I was making all the flowers myself, but she was well worth it. She's a lot prettier in person!

Hello, crafters!! It's time for another Color Challenge over at the Outlawz! And the sponsor, Pickled Potpourri, is giving away a $15 voucher to spend in the store! So you don't want to miss out on this!

Here is the Color Challenge for this week:

For my project this week, I chose to use the Water Lily image. I absolutely love this one! It was very easy to color with my Prismacolors. Here it is:

The shadows were already in the image, so it sure made it a lot easier to do! The picture really doesn't do it justice! I chose to do the top row, left to right: Brown - Diecut (Reneabouquets), Green - Gems, and Blue - Buttons. The paper I chose to use is the Cryogen Iridescent White and Khaki Crepe from Paper Temptress. The solid dark brown is from my stash. 

As you can see, the image has been cut out and mounted onto the colored white. I used my Prima water soluble pastel blue for that, added some Glossy Accents around the the lower areas of the lily, added a brad dragonfly and brads (which look like buttons), the gems, and the buttons. Then of course, I added the sentiment.

Alphabet Mixed Media

Hello, my friends! Today I want to share with you an Alphabet Mixed Media project. There is a challenge in a Facebook group I'm in where you take either the first initial of your first or last name. I chose to do the initial of my last name. I don't know if you can tell that it started out as an E, however! But, nonetheless, here it is! I had a lot of fun doing it. I LOVE mixed media art. It's my favorite thing to do, but I've not done too much of it lately. It felt good to get back into it. 

So of course, I started out with a chipboard letter. I painted it with Gesso to prepare the surface. I then painted it with DecoArt metallic paint called Peacock Pearl. If you look very closely, you'll see that there's a peacock among the flowers (purchased from Wild Orchard Craft). I put a lace trim around the center of the letter I got from Cindy's laces. You can't see too much of it there, but it really helped to fill in the gaps. I had a butterfly applique I got from Kimberly of KPKre8ations, so to make it pop out on my project, I watered down the same color of acrylic paint and soaked her in it, and then dried her. The other butterflies, silverware, and little round embellishments (don't you like my terminology?) came from Reneabouquets where I had won a contest she had. I LOVE all these ladies and the wonderful products they sell/make.

The Scrapoholic Candy Shop

Hello, crafty peeps! Jeanie, DT here, to share with you another project from the candy shop! For today, I used the Selfie digital stamp; it was something different. Here it is:

I started with a black pearl glossy paper from Paper Temptress for the base of the card. I used my Prismacolors for the camera, added some gemstone balloons, pearl embellishments, and rhinestone ribbon on the side of the card. The sentiments are also a part of the digital stamp, so it's a 2-in-1 stamp!

The Paper Temptress

Today I want to share with you the image I used for my card. Here she is:

First off, I printed my Ascot Hat image by Rick St. Dennis onto the Heavenly White 120# paper and colored her in with the Prismacolor pencils. I then mounted her onto the Dark Red Basis paper and then on the Black Basis Paper.  I then mounted the mats onto the card foundation using the Silver Lustre paper....GORGEOUS paper and very easy to ink and emboss on! I wanted to keep this pretty simple, so as to focus on the image. So I just cut out 3 flowers on my Big Shotz and layered them, adding a rhinestone in the center of each flower. And then she was done!

I used the Happy Birthday chicks. Aren't they adorable? I made them all in various colors of blue. I kept it pretty CAS. I even printed the sentiment and the birds on the same sheet of paper, and did my coloring directly on that piece. In turn, I just added layers of blue paper that I had in my stash, added embellishments, a rose I made, and a bird cage.

The Scrapoholic Candy Shop Project

Hello, Crafty Peeps!

Today I want to share with you my tag using the "Kite Flying Girl" digital. She is so cute!! 

I love tags, and I love doing them! That's probably one of the reasons I joined a Tag Swapping Group on Facebook....I make so many, I needed to swap some so I can have some made by others! :-)  

I used my Prismacolors on the Cryogen Iridescent White by Paper Temptress. That's my paper of choice when I do my coloring with my pencils. I wasn't really sure how big I was going to make the tag, so I actually started "backwards", layering from the top down. I put her onto the blue cardstock, along with my sentiment. Then I made a red mat about a 1/4" bigger than the blue. I did the same thing with the white, and then ended up with another blue cardstock as the bottom layer, with an extension at the top just so I could fix the tag portion.

I took twine and "framed" the cardstock and added a few bows onto that. I used my crop-a-dile to make a hole at the top and slipped some twine into it and knotted it. I hot glued some rick rack at the top and some red ball ribbon on the bottom.

Crafty Gals Challenge!

For project this week, I chose the Ashlee Butterfly Wings. With it being the Rays of Sunshine, Use Yellows, I went almost totally yellow with Ashlee. I wanted to make her stand out, so I also used black. Here she is:

I used my Prismacolors to color her in, then I printed the sentiment on blue paper I had in my stash. I then adhered that mat to a yellow piece of cardstock, and added some white dots, lace and flowers on top of the lace and attached them to the mat. I used a butterfly paper punch from Creative Memories. The butterflies each have a little rhinestone on it's back. I added Glossy Accents in various places on Ashlee to give her  a little bit of a "pop". 

And there you have it! It is one of those CAS cards...Clean And Simple. But yet makes a statement!
