Outlawz Color Challenge

Outlawz Color Challenge - Week of May 31st
Hello, everyone! It's time to bring you another challenge at the Outlawz Challenge Blog! Here is this week's Photo Inspiration chosen by Ina:
The Twist on this inspiration is to Add Layers. I chose the Heel Accessories from Bugaboo. Below is my finished project: A Handbag Card. I got this from YouTube following this tutorial (link here). I wanted to do something a little different than just a card. And with this specific digital, I thought what better project than making a handbag with it as the center of attention?? ;-)

Here it is:

Rather than explain to you how I did it, please follow the link above, as I don't want to take credit for this idea. But I will tell you that I made my "flap" a different shape. And, if I saw it correctly, I don't believe that this tutorial had it where you can open up the card, so I thought it would be fun to let it be one that can open. The inside has the sentiment with a larger copy of the digital on the flap. I added a lot of bling, a pearl/rhinestone "button", and orange floral pearl ribbon as my layers for this project. The flap is also another layer. With the card opening, that gave it another layer.

I really had a lot of fun with this one. (It seems I always say that, but it's so true! I love art!) I hope you join us for this week's challenge! Be sure to post it to the Outlawz Facebook page, too!

Now let me show the project I did using their digitals! I chose the dog bone #417, the woof 2 papers, the paw prints paper, and the solids 2 & 5 from the Puppy Power Pack

This was truly fun to work with, simply because every piece worked together. That made it take out the guess work! Inside, I just used leftover pieces and added a small pocket on the side for a gift card.

I hope you come join us! As always, we love seeing your work!

Scrapoholic Candy Shop DT Project

Hello, my fellow crafty peeps! I hope all is going well for you this fine Friday (even if it may be raining, as it is here!). I want to share with you this week's SCS project, You are my Sunshine! I had a lot of fun with her. Since she is a summer digital, I wanted to give it a good summer color to it, so I chose the yellow, orange, and blue Prismacolors. Here is my project:

This was a fairly simple card to do. I simply did my coloring on white, mounted that onto Orange cardstock from Paper Temptress, and then mounted that onto blue cardstock I had in my stash. I got some orange printed designer paper I had bought from Creative Memories a while back while I was a consultant and used that as the foundation of the card. This designer paper was 2-sided, so I cut a strip of the gold paper on the opposite side and adhered it to the left side of the card, put some orange floral pearls on top of that, and placed a Prima lace flower in the middle of those. The sentiment came with the digital (one of the perks of Amanda's digitals!), mounted them onto blue cardstock, and adhered them.

I hope you enjoy this card! Please stop by the Scrapoholic Candy Shop! There are lots of great and adorable digitals there!

Crafty Gals Corner Challenge #73!

This week the challenge is Anything Goes!
Our sponsors this week are:

Bugaboo Stamps
Prize: 7 Digital Images

Di's Digi's
Prize: $12 Gift Certificate

This week I chose to do the Butterfly Globe from Bugaboostamps. I worked hard on this one, as I had never done one like this. I printed out the globe onto a piece of acetate, so it could look like a glass globe. The acetate piece was only placed on the globe, not the stand. Here is my project:

I colored my image, put stickles (crystal) on the butterflies and flakes, and Glossy Accents on the bubbles inside. I also lined the stand with a gold "diamond" strand. I put some more glossy on the stand and sprinkled Diamond Glass Glitter (from Reneabouquets). I lined the left side with an "off-color" ribbon and covered it with some lace to mute the color, and then edged the lace with flat-backed pearls. Pearls were also added on the bottom left and right sides. To make it more dimensional, I cut out another butterfly, colored it, put stickles on it, and adhered it to the other "look-alike" butterfly. I wasn't sure about doing it, but once I got it on then, I was happy with the result.

Please be sure to join us for this week's challenge! You could be a winner of a prize!

Outlawz Color Challenge!

There's A New Outlawz in Town...Blogtown, that is!!
And I'm here to share with you what this week's inspiration is!

Aren't these some great colors in the British flag?  Now, normally working with these colors are hard for me, but with the image I chose, I was able to make it work. This month's images are from Bugaboo Stamps.  I chose the BugLoveAngel digital. Here is my project:

This is a 6x6" card. I'm not sure why I chose that size, but I did and was able to work with it quite well. It's pretty CAS, as you can see. The bow at the top I did double up by adhering the red ribbon on top of the yellow one.

I hope you come on over and join us in our newest Outlawz Color Challenges

Paper Temptress Angel Card

Hello, everyone! Jeanie, DT here to show you another one of my PT projects! Every piece of paper on this project comes from Paper Temptress. I especially love the shiny luster paper!

May 23rd watermark 2
I made this a "squarish" card: 6"x6". I started with the bottom layer, Khaki Crepe, topped that with a Light Yellow, and lastly the Silver Lustre. I took the silver lustre paper and inked it up with TH distress ink (peacock feathers). I then used my Spellbinders layering frames and cut the 2 larger frames out, 1 with the Light Blue paper and 1 with the Light Yellow and adhered them together. I made the butterflies from the Peachy Velvet Stripes (looks and feels like vellum) and Hambly Studios Script Tease paper, layering the peach color on top of the script tease to give it more of a "beige" tone.

I had a bonus to add to these gorgeous papers! I got some machine stitched embroidery appliques from KPKre8tions. Both the beautiful angel and the flowers are from her shop. The picture doesn't do the papers nor the appliques justice! I ran a strand of lace from Cindy's Lighthouse stop n' shop and added pearl to it and a metal embellishment piece. I also added pearls to the floral appliques.

I hope you enjoyed it! Blessings, Jeanie, Scrapbookingmamaw

The Scrapoholic Candy Shop DT Project

Hello, fellow crafty peeps! Jeanie, DT here with another adorable digital project to share with you! First off, let me say this...when you get digitals from The Scrapoholic Candy Shop, you can get a LOT of images that are sets, rather than just one image on it!  And this one (a new release), Babies, was one of them!

I LOVE this digital! Before I go on, let me show you my card:

Now here is a copy of what you would get with this set: Look at all the cuties in there! Those babies are adorable! I made mine into a baby shower postcard invitation, so on the other side there will be the where, when, etc. on it when I need it.

 New Release
NEW RELEASE!

I didn't do a pre-determined size for this invitation. I printed out the image size I wanted first, then printed out the size of the fonts I wanted onto a white cardstock (full sheet). I then adhered the images onto the cardstock, cutting out a "square" around the images and fonts (sentiment). Then I just added more layers (matting each layer), until I got the size I wanted. I left enough white cardstock space on the left side so I could punch holes there in order to add a yellow bow.

This was one of those CAS (clean and simple) cards. Since it is an invitation, I didn't want to put too much on it, because it would more than likely be mailed to someone. Be sure to check out our Facebook page for more inspiration! Thanks for stopping by!

Blessings, Jeanie, DT (Scrapbookingmamaw)

Crafty Gals Corner Challenge #72

Crafty Gals Corner Challenge #72

Welcome to another week of challenges!
This week the challenge is May Flowers!

Our sponsors this week are:
Prize: $10 Gift Certificate

Prize: $12 Gift Certificate
Prize: TBA

For my project this week, I used a stamp from STAMPlorations, Morning Glory. First of all, I want to point out that I got the idea for this card off Pinterest, which took me to Two Paper Divas - Friday Freebie. While I did the pot the same way, I did use my stamp for my flower. And then I added it to a double matted frame.

I used red cardstock as the base for my black POW Glitter Paper that I had bought from ScrapbookingwithMe Boutique. This is the best glitter paper I have ever come across. I made the flower pot card first before I went into the matting. After I placed the pot where I wanted it, then I added all the embellishments. I used the Diamond Glass Glitter from Reneabouquets. I put a little sentiment inside.

I hope you join us for this week's challenge! There's always something to see! And there's a lot of great talent out there that we LOVE looking at!

Outlawz Color Challenge

Week of May 17th - 23rd

This week I got to choose the challenge...Photo Inspiration! Below is the photo....use this photo to find your inspiration and tell us what it is. :-)

I love all the colors in this photo. My inspiration from this were the flowers, the purple, and the gold. The purples went perfectly with this lovely embroidered fan I got from KPKre8tions. She has some really gorgeous pieces there, and she makes them herself....they are NOT store bought.
I made a white base card to incorporate white into the piece. Then I layered it with White Skinny Columns paper I got from Paper Temptress. I inked it up with colors from the photo, using Tim Holtz distress inks. I then made a banner using the Azalea Mica/Metallic paper also from Paper Temptress. (They're having a sale...go check it out!). I topped that banner piece off with some pink gingham paper I had in my stash. Using the Gold POW glitter paper on each side of the banner gave it a little "pop" to it. The lace below is from Cindy's Lighthouse stop n' shop on Facebook. She sells some beautiful pieces at VERY reasonable prices.

I did use my Prima watercolor pencils on this image. I wanted it to have that kind of a look to it. I hope you enjoy it and that you will join us for this week's challenge!

Blessings, Jeanie - Scrapbookingmamaw

The Scrapoholic Candy Shop DT Project

Bathing Birdie SCS Project
Hello, crafty peeps! Today I want to share with you a tag I made using the Bathing Birdie image. I wanted to do something different with this one, so instead of a card I just used various cardstock, added sequin lace around the edge, added the butterfly and rhinestone swirls, flat-back pearls, and a little nest with eggs in it (all items were gifted to me). I added the lace "hanger" at the top. Miss Bathing Birdie was colored with the Pima watercolor pencils. I added some glossy accents to the water droplets and her eyes so they have a little shine to them. The flowers were colored with metallic gel pens.

She was such fun! I hope you join us over at The Scrapoholic Candy Shop blog!  Here is our Facebook link

Crafty Gals Corner Challenge #71
This week the challenge is Polka Dots or Strips!

Our sponsors this week are:
Scrapper's Delights

Prize: 3 Digital Images

For my project this week, I decided to use the Crafty Honey Scissors digital. I thought she was so adorable! I love the little heart she cut out of paper, too....a true little crafter, she is! I did a basic cardstock foundation, which just happened to have the dots, and the pearl dots was gifted to me, so I had to add them in. I also used a hint of stiped paper, with all the colors that fit in perfectly! I added ribbon, glossy accents on her eyes, scissors, buttons on her pants, hair ribbon, and her shoes. And of course I used my Prismacolors!

 Using: Crafty Honey's Scissors

Jeanie

I hope you can come and join us in this challenge! You don't have to use both stripes and dots, but it's just what I chose to do myself. And have fun with it!!

See you there! Blessings, Jeanie Ellis - Scrapbookingmamaw

Week of May 10th

How exciting it is to be able to share with you another Color Challenge! Each week it's something new and different! For the month of May, we have Bugaboo Stamps sponsoring us.

And for the Color Challenge this week, we use 3 colors plus a twist - get inky!

For my project, I decided I would use the Floral Teapot. I wanted to use this particular digi because I wanted to have flowers represented in my project as part of the inspiration. And of course, I used all the colors. The inky twist for me was the coloring around here. I used watercolor pencils, which also gives it an inky look, too. So, on to my project!

So there you have it! A card with all the signs of spring in it! I hope you will join in on the challenges each week. The Color Challenge is one of my favorites, because then all I have to do is decide what project I want to make with those colors! :-D Be sure to go HERE to join in on the fun!

Paper Temptress Vellum Card
Hello, fellow crafty peeps! Today I want to share with you what I did using heavy duty vellum! I love this vellum, mainly because it is heavy duty. It went through my Big Shot embossing folder very nicely and there were no tears or rips in it at all! However, before I embossed the vellum, I used a die cut template to cut a "window" in my card front, using Script Tease paper, then layered the vellum underneath the window. I then turned the Script Tease over and used it as an additional matting for my card front. The foundation of the card itself is Ivory Leather. I wanted to add some layering to my window front, so I used a floral die cut using the Orange Fizz cardstock. I then used the same die cut on the vellum and placed it on the orange flower, in order to give it a lighter shade to lighten up the orange. Regarding the pink I used from the Basis package...it has a very similar feel of vellum, but with some monochrome color to it, very lightly shaded. It's beautiful!
As you can  see, I also use a Tim Holtz butterfly die cut, again using the reverse side of the Script Tease for the bottom layer and then the light pink on top of that. Do you see the beautiful lace and lace flower? I was gifted that by a very special friend! It made the whole card really pop! I used stickles on my flower and butterfly just to give it a little shine. I left the card blank inside, as I wanted to be able to use it for just the right occasion when it comes along. I hope you enjoy it! And please....show us your creations!!

The Scrapoholic Candy Shop Blog

Hello, everyone! Jeanie, DT here, to share with you my card for this week. This image is "Tip Toe Through the Tulips" I chose to keep this card CAS (clean and simple), because I didn't want to take away from that sweet little image! I used Prismacolors  on her, matted her on a couple different sheets of paper, and added a flat trim to both sides of the card. I added sentiments to the card, but no bling as I didn't want to "overload" the card for this image.

Be sure to check us out at our Scrapoholic Candy Shop Facebook page! More inspiration there, too!

Crafty Gals Corner Challenge #70!
This week the challenge is Celebrate Mom!

Our sponsors this week are:

Prize: 3 Digital Images
Prize: THREE WINNERS
1 - Grand Prize of 3 digital images
1 - prize of 1 digital image
1- prize of 1 digital image

Here is my DT project for this week, using Mama's Love from Faery Ink. Isn't she a gorgeous digital?

I decided I'd make her into a wall hanging. So of course, the backing is with chipboard. I then placed a sheet of Hambly Screen Prints, Peacock Feathers, that I got from Paper Temptress. While the Black Peacock Feathers is no longer available, you can still get the Gold Peacock Feathers, which is just gorgeous! I then colored in the image with my Prismacolors, using the Cryogen Iridescent White as the background paper. I matted that with the Bordeaux paper, which has the most elegant feel to it! So very soft and yet so very durable! I used a white rose ribbon I had in my stash and outlined the left and bottom sides, placed a black lace at the bottom, made a red lace flower and put an embellishment I got from Reneabouquets. The butterflies also came from Reneabouquets.

So there you have it! A couple ribbons, a few clear heart embellishments, and I was done! She was a lot of fun to do! Again, you can get this beautiful digital from Faery Ink right HERE.

Thanks for stopping by. And be sure to join in on the fun!

There's a New Color Challenge in Blogtown!
The Outlawz, That is!

I love the Color Challenges! One of my favorites! So, here below is the picture indicating the color to use....Blue Chenille....but then you add your own twist and tell us what it is! We are sponsored this month by Bugaboo Stamps! Come on over and join the challenge! Each of the Design Team members have made some great inspirational pieces!

My Project for this Week of May 3rd:
So for my project, I decided to make a tag using the Bugaboo digital Live, Laugh, Love (link HERE). I used chipboard as my backing then added brown cardstock, blue chenille on top of that, and then layered it with the different browns and blue stripings. Before I placed my striped layer on top, I printed the digitals onto my paper, then just added some blue metallic and Clear Wink of Stella to the butterflies and then blue to the letters. After I put the printed piece on top, I glued a border of peach pearl "ribbon" around it to give it that "twist". Adding lace to the back and ribbon to hang the tag was my final step.

I hope you enjoyed my little project, and I hope you also plan on joining in the color challenge. It's always fun, and always a joy for me to see all the beautiful, wonderful talent out there!!

Blessings, Jeanie - Scrapbookingmamaw
