Hi everyone! I'm so glad you stopped in! I wanted to share a furniture project with you today. Turning a bedroom dresser into a craft room storage unit!
My husband and I have been wanting to buy base cabinets for my craft room. But they're so expensive! One day, while I was mulling around with thoughts like "what can we do instead" in my head, the thought occurred to me that we have this old dresser in our garage, collecting dust. That's when it struck me...make it into a storage unit!
So I presented the idea to my husband, and he went into recycling mode. Here is a "before" photo of the piece. You can see it was being used for...nothing except to collect dust and hold those items you just haven't thrown away yet. Sad, but true. There's more to that story, though! Lol
The next step was to prime and then paint the piece. He bought these black handles from Lowe's (love them!) and added them to the "new" unit. While I don't have a picture of that stage, here is one right after it was done. Now it was time to bring it in! Believe me... that took some maneuvering on our part!
Once it was moved in and placed where we wanted it, I had the "brilliant" idea of putting some Dollar Tree self-adhesive shelf paper on it. If not for my husband's help, I think I would have quit. Thank you hubby!
Here is the finished project:
