Here is the last challenge of the month for the New Year....what?? Already? Yes, believe it or not! Time is sure flying by for this year. So, for this week our sponsor is:

With this Challenge, I used the Valentine Girl. Here she is:

I kept the card itself pretty simple, as the coloring itself took some time to do. I also used the Tim Holtz distress inks to color her in, plus a little bit of my Prismacolors. She was printed on paper I had in my stash, but the pink matting behind her is the Azalea Mica/Metallic from Paper Temptress. I absolutely love this metallic paper! I haven't tried this yet...but soon will try....is print your digital image on this paper and immediately put embossing powder on it and heat it! That's one thing I will be trying!

I did use my Simple Flowers embossing folder from the Cuttlebug collection on the front of the card, but it didn't show up much, of course, since I matted it. But it does show in the inside, so that worked for me.

Please join us this week for our challenge! I can't wait to see what you do!

Blessings!

Challenge #55: Something New! (1/20)

This week the challenge is Something NEW for YOU!It could be new product, technique, fold, etc. Anything New! :-D

Our sponsors this week are:

Stitchy Bear Digital Outlet
Prize: $10 Gift Certificate

Lacy Sunshine
Prize: 3 Digital Images

Ching-Chou Kuik
Prize:1 Digital Image

So with this week being Something New, and I didn't get a new craft tool (shucks!), I thought I'd do a new technique. Well, new to me, anyway, I really had a lot of fun with it, too! Here it is:

Using: Snow Drop by Ching Chou Kuik

Okay, so I know I didn't make this a snow project, but I totally had a different vision for her. And, really...that's okay! That's what crafting is all about! It's your project....let your crafty freedom ring! I can't remember the name of the exact name of the blue cardstock paper, but it is out of my scraps, made by Blue Fern. I purchased it from ScrapbookingwithMe Boutique. I printed my digital onto a Heavy Duty Vellum that I got from Paper Temptress. The flower in the top left corner is also the vellum, except that I colored it with TH distress inks to match as much as possible to the flowers in the digital.

I turned the vellum over, then began coloring her. While the front looks fine, the back is something else! I'm glad I covered it with the reverse side of the Blue Fern! Haha! After I colored her, I just simply placed her inside the cut out and covered the back. This technique gives it more of a watercolor look...and I used Prismacolor pencils. Not the watercolor ones, but the regular ones you get at Hobby Lobby.

I kept her simple because I didn't want to take away the watercolor effect. I hope you enjoy her, and that you join in on the challenge! We all love to see the great projects! It's really hard to choose each week!

Blessings,
Jeanie

Hello, you wonderful crafters! I'm excited to share with you a new technique I learned, using the Heavy Weight Vellum paper from Paper Temptress. This vellum is absolutely the best I've ever tried! And you can run it through your printer! So the first thing I did, was use my dry embossing folder to do the impression of my heart print you see. I then turned over the vellum and colored in the image with my gel pens. It may look odd on that side, but once you turn it to the other side, it has a wonderful watercolor affect! I then cut out a piece of Heavenly White 80# paper, the same size of my Heart vellum. I stamped an image on that, and adhered it to the back of the Heart vellum. I love the faded look it gives to the background. I got out my Azalea Mica/Metallic paper to use for the foundation of the card, cut it to the size I wanted, folded it, and adhered everything together. I have to tell you, I'm in love with this paper!!! I also added the Pink Feather Edge Ribbon to the top corner. Every piece of paper of that card is from PT. My fave!!
I hope you can come on in and join in with us! These papers are the best I've ever used.
Blessings! Jeanie

Lemon Shortbread

Beccy's Place
Prize: 3 Digital Images/ 1 Digital Set

For my project, I chose the Snow Happy digital by Miss Daisy Stamps. It's so very cute! Here it is:

I used all paper from the Paper Temptress: Base: Silver Pearl Linen, Classic Linen Red Pepper,  and Cryogen White Iridescent (almost ALWAYS!), I used ribbon and buttons that I had in my stash to make a heart. Again, I used my Prismacolor pencils and colored Snow Happy, added glitter to the hat, scarf, and "snow caps" on the words, and Cherry Red Glass Glitter from Reaneabouquets. This picture doesn't do justice to the beauty of the Silver Pearl Linen. It has a beautiful shine to it!

Be sure to head over to Crafty Gals Corner and join in on the fun!!

NEW YEAR...NEW CHALLENGE! Crafty Gals Corner Challenge #53! This week the challenge is Anything Goes

Our sponsor this week is:

Scrapper's Delights

Prize: 3 Digital Images

So for this challenge, I chose the Princess 3 from the Princess collection. I love this digital. I made this tag with my granddaughter in mind (she loves blue and princesses!).
I started off by cutting out the tag from the Cryogen White Iridescent paper. What I love about this paper is that it has a little bit of a sparkle to it and very easy to color on with my Prismacolors. Then I used my Tim Holtz distress pad to sponge on the blue and leaving a white at the bottom to sort of represent the look of snow. I then used the TH Speckles to spread texture paste on the background to look like some snow falling. I sprayed Glimmer Mist Pearl on top of that to add more shine. I used a die cut Fancy Doily I bought from Reneabouquets shop out of the Glamour Gold Glossy from Paper Temptress. That paper worked very well for this die cut! All the lace and trim (not the ribbon..I got that from a special friend along with the flowers) are from Cindy's Facebook page: Lighthouse stop n' shop. The butterfly is the Gold Tinsel Butterfly from Renea's and so is the Diamond Glass Glitter I sprinkled on her dress.

I hope you enjoyed this little project of mine! And I hope you enter the challenge! I can't wait to see your creation!

Blessings,
Jeanie, Scrapbookingmamaw
