Crafty Gals Corner Challenge #190 - April Showers

Hello, crafters! Today begins a NEW CHALLENGE over at Crafty Gals Corner! And the theme for this challenge is: April Showers (Add clouds, rain, umbrella, puddles, etc.). Our amazing sponsors for this challenge are:

Prize ~ 3 Digital Images

Prize ~ 3 Digital Images

(Formerly Lacy Sunshine)
Prize ~ 3 Digital Images

So do I need to tell you how much I LOVED coloring the image I used - Rory's April Showers May Flowers from COLOR OF LOVE? She is a beautiful image! Here she is:
I decided I'd go with my Spectrum Noir markers on her. For some reason I had a lot of trouble trying to capture her photo, but she really does look better in person. Maybe it's all that rain splashing into my camera lens! Haha! Anyway, I did several of layers to mount her onto paper from The Paper Temptress.

I hope that you will join us for this fortnight's challenge! And thank you so much for stopping by!

Hello, and it's time once again for a Color Challenge over at The Outlawz! I hope that you will join us. Our amazing April Sponsor is none other than.....
The Paper Shelter
Sponsored by : The Paper Shelter
This week Jacqui has chosen the colour palette for the challenge.
There are 5 colours in the palette and she's added a twist of - fun fold. Check out each of the designers to see examples of the Fun Fold! Now here is the photo inspiration for this challenge:
This was such a fun card to do! I got the idea of mine from a YouTube video by Dawn's Stampin' Up! It's called a Diamond Top Fold Card. Be sure to check out how to do this easy but so cool fold card!

Now for my card:

I won't go into the details on how to do the fold, as the video shows how to do that (and it's a great video!). But I LOVE the elephants! I had a lot of fun decorating them, too!

I hope that you will join us for this challenge! And most of all, HAVE FUN!

Now let me share with you my project....a Spring Flower Decor! Because of the colors, I was trying to get it to not look "Fall". I wanted to give it a Spring look. So here is my process:

Step 1: Paint the base color, inside and out

Step 2: Sponge paint at least 2 colors over the black

Step 3: Add cording or rope, beginning at the bottom

Step 4: If you have vertical "cracks" like I had, fill in the cracks
by gluing on some flat cording. (Optional)

Step 5: Add more orange cord to hide the ends of yellow cord

Step 6: Now add small cord on top of orange cord (Again, optional)

Step 7: Add orange cord on top edge of rim and yellow cord
on top of the cords on the base

Step 8: Add floral foam to the inside

Step 9: Add Sheet Moss

Step 10: Begin adding greenery and your floral

NOTE: To add to my mixed media Home Decor, I crocheted orange "slices" and
added them to the bottom of the flower pot
I hope that you enjoyed my project and that it gave you some inspiration! And be sure to join us by going to the current challenge tab and clicking the InLinkz button! Thank you for stopping by!

Guest Designer Project for TaylorMadeCards4U - Envelope Mini-Album

Hello, fellow crafters! Thank you so much for stopping in! Today I'm excited to share with you a project that I did as a Guest Designer for TaylorMadeCards4U.comWhat a beautiful set of papers I got to work with - My Mother's Garden Digital Kit! I also want to mention that TaylorMadeCards4U are also sponsoring Crafter's Castle Challenges for the month of April!

Below is a video on how I made this album:

My mother has been gone over 30 years now, so this brought a little joy, a few tears to my eyes, in remembering my mother. And one of the things I remember the most about my mom, was that she absolutely LOVED roses! She had rose bushes everywhere! She never ever used any kind of chemical on them to make them grow....they just grew in abundance!

Before my mom passed away, we drove by her house and there was not one rose on any of the bushes (we were stationed at an Army base at the time). The next thing I heard was my mom exclaiming..."Oh! My roses!" and I thought, oh no, she's going to be sad because there aren't any roses....and the next statement she made threw me for a loop. She said, "Aren't they beautiful!?"

I truly believe this was God allowing her to see her roses that she cherished one last time, as she went on to Heaven 2 weeks later. What a memory for me! So I dedicate this project to my Mom and rose lovers everywhere! I hope this will inspire you to create too!

Be sure to check out Monica's new shop as she has moved from Etsy. TAYLORMADECARDS4U
Although I didn't use the layered rose sheet, I will be soon!

I hope that you find this inspirational and that you will come back for more inspiration!

The Outlawz Color Challenge April 9th

Hello, crafters! This week began a new Challenge over at the Outlawz! I'm a bit late in posting, as things have been a little hectic. But I'm back! Here we go!
The Paper Shelter
Sponsored by : The Paper Shelter
This week AJ has chosen made a TIC TAC TOE Board
Each square has a few colors &
themes you can choose from...
Choose a line, be it horizontal, vertical or
diagonal and let us know what that line is ...
Isn't that a beautiful  board? Now here is what I did, going from bottom left to top right:
As you can see, I have a lot of embellishments going on here, without trying to overload it. I used the background papers from The Paper Shelter.  LOVE them!

I hope that you will join us! And Thank you for stopping by!
