The Wild West Collection

The Wild West Collection!
Hello, fellow scrapoholics! Jeanie Ellis, DT here. Today I want to share with you my project from the SCS team. I have a niece who will soon have a birthday, and she loves animals of all kinds, plus she's into sports. So I decided I would use this collection as the perfect card for a little girl who is full of fun, adventure, and lots of energy to do it! Check out all of the digitals! There's many ways you can use them, plus, they're just so doggone cute!! You can get more inspiration from all of the DT's in our Facebook page HERE

I kept this card pretty simple...not a lot of "fru-fru" on it because she's not that kind of gal. In fact, I used a pre-made blank card base (I usually make mine). And the fence with the cactus, horse shoe, and badge are 1 image, and the horse is another. So, I thought it would be cute to put them together. Yes! They're THAT versatile! I colored my images and sentiment with my Prismacolors, cut out the image, added twine for my "rope", and then sequins and pearls on the bottom left-hand side of my card.

The pink card mat is from Paper Temptress, Azalea Mica/Metallic. One of my very favorite papers to use! Love it!

Thank you for stopping by and...."Have a Rootin Tootin kind of day" today...and every day!

The Scrapoholic Candy Shop DT Project

The Scrapoholic Candy Shop
DT Project
(For some reason, the schedule on this didn't go through for last week, so here it is!)

It's time for another DT project over at the Scrapoholic Candy Shop and Facebook page! For this card project, I chose the New Release Girl Graduate for a special young lady I know. Take it from me...this was one fun card to do!

For this image, I used the Prismacolors and blending tool. Most all of my paper was from my stash when I was a Creative Memories consultant. They're back in action again....check them out! I also used Glossy Accents on the eyes, tassel, robe "scarf" (I'm not sure what that's called), and her shoes.  I kept it blue and yellow gold because those are some of their colors. The inside of the card has a white sheet to it that I embossed with notebook paper embossing folder. The white paper is from Paper Tempress, Cryogen Iridescent (LOVE that paper!). I happened to have stickers in my stash that were for graduation, so that worked out great!

Come by and see all the great DT projects and other talented, crafty peeps!

I used the image Freckled Fawn Bunny Flower by Kitty Bee Designs. This image is such a cute one! I fell in love with it!

Once again, I found the "how-to" fold for this card on Pinterest. This one is called the Joy Fold. It was soooo easy and fun to do! As you can see, I made this card CAS (Clean and Simple). There was no "fru-fru" here, as it was such a cutie I wanted it to stand out.

Come on over and join in on the challenge! It's a lot of fun when it's ANYTHING GOES!

Paper Temptress DT Project
A couple months or so ago, I won a free digital from Conie Fong Art & Design Group Facebook page. I got to choose my image, which is the Precious 2. She's adorable! I used almost all Paper Temptress papers and made a tag. Here is the list of items I used from PT:

Red Licorice Glossy, Skinny Columns Black, and the Feather Edge Red Satin Ribbon. This tag actually didn't take a lot of supplies to do, as I didn't use chipboard as my base. The Red Glossy paper was a great weight, so it didn't need that foundation.

The embellishments (leaves, flower, black lace), came from a great online stores - Gone Artsy. Let me tell you, she has a lot of great items at a great price! And of course, I used Diamond Glass Glitter from Reneabouquets

TTCRD Magazine
I love Faery Ink images. I'm all into the "cute-sy" of digitals. I also love the "semi-realistic" look on their faces. They are ADORABLE! This image is the Autumn Rose from Faery Ink. Amanda Byron draws these lovely creations! I get the joy of coloring them and turning them into a project! You can see the more details about this project in the upcoming May-June 2016 magazine! If you currently don't subscribe, please go here.

This week the challenge is Cute as a Button!
This week we have 3 sponsors! They are:
Prize: 2 Digital Images

Prize: 3 Digital Images

Prize: $20 gift Certificate

Here is my project for the challenge, using
Avery & Teddy by Paper Nest Dolls:

Isn't she just adorable! I'd say "Cute as a Button", wouldn't you? (insert *wink* here!) I thought she would make a great "Thinking of You" card. I got the card fold from Pinterest. It has a Z-fold to it, and stands up. Then you can flatten it open and flip her over to see the inside, if you want.

Come on over and join us for the challenge! We love seeing your projects!

Don't forget our other Fabulous Sponsors for April
When you get to the challenge blog, be sure to check out the sidebar!
This week we have a monochrome challenge for you.
You can use any colour you like for your project -
As a sample, here is Ina's favorite color!

Here is what I did --- an ATC card. :-)  As you can see, mine is in the blue family with a touch of the white.

This is an ATC - Artist Trading Card. For being a 2.5"x3.5", it took as much work as a bigger card! But it was so very fun! I had thin chipboard, so I cut 2 - 2.5"x3.5" and glued them together with Scotch Tacky Glue. Then I cut out the background paper the same size and distressed the edges with the Tim Holtz distressing tool and inked the sides up with TH salty ocean distressed ink. My next step was to put 2 layers of Ultra Thick Clear Embossing Powder on top of that. It gives it a glassy look. I then layered a strip of Sky Blue Stripes (Paper Temptress website) toward the left of the card. I added 2 pieces of lace and a tiny doily from Gone Artsy Pearl White Medallion Venice Lace. I added blue glass glitter, the mirror, and the butterfly, all from Reneabouquets. Lastly, I added a few flat-backed pearls.

I love mixed media...my biggest problem is deciding where to put them when I'm done! (Yes, I do give some away...it's just that I make so many! I can't help myself! Lol!)

Be sure to come over and join the challenge! I wouldn't want you to miss out on that $10 GC!! And have fun with it!!

The Scrapoholic Candy Shop - DT Project - Cuties Career - Medical

My sister just had surgery this week, so I wanted to be sure she got a handmade card from me. This image is PERFECT for such a card! I love everything about it! What's even better, there are sentiments that come with it. How awesome is that??  Here it is:

I made it using a Gate-Fold method, colored her with my Prismacolors, added a few other things to help the colors "pop", and I was finished. I'm very happy with the way it turned out. Check out the images over at The Scrapoholic Candy Shop

Challenge #67 - Crafty Gals Corner Challenge!

This week the challenge is Die Cuts/Punches!

Our sponsors this week are:
Prize: $25 Gift Certificate

AND
Prize: 3 digital images
Digi and clear stamps from KennyK are a fun and edgy way to add the perfect dose of attitude and style to all of your creations! KennyK is a NYC-born professional illustrator who has brought his funky-but-slick, urban-influenced look to the cardmaking and papercrafts world.  His signature style can be seen throughout his various collections of sexy pinup babes, sweet 'n sassy girls, cool rockin' dudes, kid’s stuff, retro characters and more at KennyKDownloads.com.

AND

Prize: 3 digital images

So for my project this week, I chose the image you see up there in the Conie Fong Art & Design. I absolutely LOVE this image! For my die cut/punch, I used a flower punch to make my rose in my image, and a diecut I had the blessing of receiving from a friend. Here is my project:

Lavender's Blue

I didn't realize at the time that I had used the same color of dress....I just knew yellow was a good color of Spring for her. :-)  Anyway, I had fun coloring her!! I used the Khaki Ruche as a base for my tag (so it's on the underside), Heavenly White #80 to place my image on, Amethyst Mica/Metallic as a side for my tag, Cryogen Iridescent to make my flower (you can still see the iridescent shimmer through!), and the Brown/Blue double-sided ribbon. I placed a Metallic Gold stretch cord in the center of the ribbon on the bottom, which was on top of a blue lace.

I hope you join in on the challenge! There's a lot of goodies to be given away this week. Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Paper Temptress Project

Hello, fellow . I used the crafters! Jeanie, DT, with another project for Paper Temptress! I had fun making this, as it was a little addition with my card...a little gift box! I can't take credit for the originality of this box idea. It came from a craft book called Score, Fold, Create! by Diana Crick, Penny Wessenauer and friends. Lots of good ideas and techniques inside! The only difference I did on it was to use a magnetic closure rather than a ribbon.

So, here is my project:

After making the box, I made the card. I used the Skinny White Columns paper to make the base card, then colored it with TH Victorian Velvet distress ink so the paper would match the Coral Mica/Metallic I used in the box. I made both flowers from the Cryogen Iridescent paper, but before I put them together I used the same TH distress ink to color them in. For the image inside the box, I simply saved my colored image to my pc, then resized it to fit the box. I used the Feathered Mint ribbon to decorate it and make the handle for the box. I also used the White Velvet as a mat for my card image.

I hope you enjoyed this project as much as I did in making it! Thanks for stopping by!

Today I want to share with you my 2nd DT Project for SCS. I love this little image! Of course, I say that about all of the little images there! {insert *wink* here}

Here is my project:

I made this card using the Mojo Monday Sketch (link here). It was all fairly simple...figuring out the colors of the paper was my biggest concern. Haha. Before I did anything, of course I colored my image....but I cut it out in a circle using my template from Creative Memories. And then I just added the layers in the same that the sketch showed. I've left the inside blank, as I'm not sure who I'm going to give it to yet. But, I do have someone in mind! ;-)

Be sure to visit my post at The Scrapoholics Candy Shop Blog to see all the goodies! We have a lot of great DT talent there!

This week the challenge is Color Challenge!
Here is the photo of the colors to use:

Aren't they GORGEOUS?? I just love these colors together. I was very inspired by them. So, here's my project I did for the challenge:

One of my favorite digital images to use are the Sassy Studio Designs. I do have others, but definitely that is one of my faves! The image I used for this challenge was Coronation Sassy (Anna). I started with a 5x7" card base from Paper Temptress, Amethyst Mica/Metallic paper. I then colored the image with my Prismacolors. I wanted her to be as close to Anna as possible, so I followed a few pictures of what she actually looked like. I also used ribbon from PT, Feather Green and  Feather Purple.  Of course I used my favorite laces from Lighthouse stop n' shop (Facebook page). Love her laces! And I added a butterfly from my favorite butterfly lady, Renea of Reneabouquets. You can also find her in the Etsy store.

I hope you enjoy my card! Thanks for stopping by!

New Color Challenge at the Outlawz!

Before I show you my project, let me show you the Color Challenge image for this week.

I was wondering how I was going to use these colors, because they're normally not colors I often put together, (Although lately I have used the red and green more!) Now for some this might not be a challenge, but for me it was. And then I realized I have a Strawberry Shortcake I got on Facebook from Sassy Studio Designs. You should look it up! Great freebies!

So here is my project: A Strawberry Shortcake box/cake. Put together, it's a tiered cake. Separated, it holds 2 gifts inside for the luck receiver! Now, I can't take credit for this. I actually got the idea from a book my sister loaned me, "Score, Fold, Create!" by Diana Crick, Penny Wessenauer, and friends.

I followed the directions, but honestly at first I was confused. It totally went together differently than I thought it would be. But...there's always a reason why the instructions are to be followed! It wasn't hard, once I realized that following the directions exactly were a must! Haha (insert *wink*)

Again...here it is!

I know I didn't color Strawberry Shortcake the way she was originally done by the original artist, but I wanted to get that blue in there. And because she was "Shortcake", I thought it only fitting to put her on top of a cake! Everything I used was in my stash.

I hope you join in on the Color Challenge! It's always my favorite, because I can do any project, as long as I used those colors.

Thanks for stopping by! Blessings, Jeanie - Scrapbookingmamaw

Theme: Anything BUT a Card

My project is an altered chipboard box. I really enjoy altering items! I made the black bow on top, plus the butterflies you see are made by Renea of Reneabouquets. I used a lot of Glossy Accents on this one! This stuff is great! And I did some distressing ink with Tim Hotz Tea Dye. I also used Stickles on the black lace ribbon on top to give it some "shine". (I'm all about the bling!)
