This week the challenge is Lots of Layers!

Our sponsors this week is:

Flat Friends Boutique

Prize: TBA

Here is the project I did, using the I Love You digital stamp. I made a "Love Plaque" to hang.

I love trying new things. So I took a wooden plaque, spread Gesso all over it, then used watercolors to spread onto the board. I then used 2 Prima stencils for the "Love" and the flowers at the bottom of the plaque. I cut out my digital and then placed her onto a piece of chalk cardstock, then used decorative scissors to cut around her. I used TH distress tool to make the edge of the paper more ragged. I always use Prima swirl pearls...believe me, they're the best I've ever used! I then layer dangling pearls just above and just below the stenciled flowers. I added different elements of color onto the flowers, and added Glass Glitter on the left edge, and other places on my project. Then I added some glitter to my butterflies and adhered flowers I got from Reneabouquets. I also used metallic watercolor on the word "Love" because I wanted it to stand out more and give it an edgy look. The butterflies are from Petaloo...Scrapbookingwithme sells these.

Head on over to Crafty Gals Corner Challenges and make your own project - LOTS OF LAYERS! Let's see your beautiful work!

Until next time! Jeanie, Design Team Member

Here is my project for this week's challenge. I love those butterflies and that rose was so much fun to do!

I know I say this every time....but I absolutely LOVED this! It was so much fun to do! I started out with a 9 1/2" x 12" white cardstock, then embossed it. Then I used Tim Holtz distress ink (lavender) and swiped it over the embossing, inside and out. I dried it with my heat gun so I wouldn't take a chance of getting ink on my white cardstock with the digital on it. Once again, I used my Prima watercolor pencils (I'm thinking I might need to buy more!!). I then folded my embossed card to overlap a little bit, and proceeded to cut the flaps so instead of overlapping they would "join" when they closed. Then I used my lace from Cindy (once again...I can't resist her lace!), pearl trim,  and ribbon on the inside. I used Reneabouquets Black Glitter Glass to trim the butterflies and to decorate the butterfly. I love bling! As you can see, I only adhered the butterflies down on half of their body so the card could open up easily. There you pretty much have it! Pretty simple, pretty easy, but oh so much fun! FYI: I got the idea for the fold of the card from We R Memory Keeper's newsletter I receive.

Let's see what your project is for this challenge! And as I always say....have fun with it!

Congratulations to all of last week's winners! So now...on to this week's challenge!  This week the challenge is Any Holiday

Our sponsors this week are:

QKR Stampede
Prize: 3 Digital Images

Prize: 3 Digital Images

Here is the DT Project I did for the challenge. I used the digital Manger from QKR Stampede.

To make this, I used a box my sister had found and altered it. First I put Gesso all over it inside and out so the colors could stay on better. Than I used various colors of the Shimmerz Inklings all over it, randomly. I then used a Faber Castell stencil and applied Liquitex Glass Beads I bought from ScrapbookingwithMe Boutique. While it was still wet, I also applied glitter on it that I had in my stash. (The blingier, the better!) I also added the silver microbeads I bought through Reneabouquets and pressed them in gently, so they would sink into the glass beads. While all this was drying, I colored in my digi so it would be ready. At this point, I still wasn't sure how I was going to incorporate it into the altered box idea, but I wasn't going to give up yet!

I then applied all my trimmings, the laces Cindy's Vintage Laces, embellishments, etc. I altered my angel metal pieces by using Versamark on them and putting Ranger embossing powders onto them. I wanted them to have more of a Christmas look to them. I added a rhinestone to the metal flower from the boutique on front.

Now, onto the digital. I thought...how cool it would be if I could sort of "pop up" my digital so it wouldn't be laying on the "floor" of the inside box? So I placed Popeze on the bottom...3 of them. I also got these through ScrapbookingwithMe Boutique. The star on the inside was POW glitter paper also from the boutique. I hot glued the green sentiment on the inside and taped the vellum sentiment on the inside lid.

So there you have it! The Perfect Gift inside a gift box! I hope you enjoy it!

Here is the DT Project I did for this week's challenge. Lacy Sunshine Stamps - Lizabeth Rockabilly

I absolutely love this one! She was so fun!

To start off, I figured out what size of a card I wanted to do and cut the white sheet for my digi last so I could have the exact size I wanted. Then I colored her with my Prima Watercolors and Prismacolors...I love the pink and green! My card ended up being a total of 5x7". I then cut out the black cardstock (ALL of my paper was from Paper Temptress, plus the overlay. I mounted the black and white mats on top of the pink, then placed trim and embellishments onto the white.

Inside the card, I kind of distress the pink paper somewhat. I wanted to transfer one of the overlays onto the page, so I brushed on fingernail polish remover onto the inside card, then quickly placed the overlay on top and rubbed. Success! (Got that from Paper Temptress.) When I lifted the overlay, I noticed some of the coloring had come off, but I really liked it. So it worked out perfectly. Then I placed black lace on the bottom of the card and put Glass Glitter on it from Reneabouquets. I went on to my shimmery white cardstock and stamped "A Note For You" onto it. I left room so I could write on it. Then I put an overlay on the top of that.

Here is the place for the sentiment.  I hope you enjoy it and join in on the challenge! You'll  have a lot of fun doing this Birthday challenge! I can't wait to see yours!
Blessings!!
