Paper Temptress February 29th Project

It's time for another project from the super duper Paper Temptress Blog!!  And this time...it's not a tag, not a card, not a mixed media (I know, right?? something different for me! ;-)  ). This is called a Faux Book Storage. I LOVE it! And it was an easy tutorial!

I saw this tutorial on YouTube, which was made by Edith Wray of Scrapbooking With M.E Boutique, and just had to try it! I did adjust my book by an overall 2" because of the digital I had printed and already colored. The digital was part of my winnings from Stitchy Bear Digi Outlet. For this digital, I used a brand new set of colors I've never tried before....the Prima Water Soluble Oil Pastels that I had bought from the SWMB. Every piece of paper is made using Paper Temptress product, including the digital. Here's the project:

Here are the supplies I used from PT:
My Supply List: Cryogen White IridescentDesert Storm Kraft PaperKraft 100#(inside), Script TeaseGlossy Yellow (on back), and On Edge Hambly Stickers. As a "plus" for my book, I added white corrugated paper and put it on the area where the pages are supposed to be. To me, this added a little extra effect to make it look more like pages, especially after I inked them with TH tea stain distress ink. I also used the Urban Frames Kraft sticker sheet. I placed various "boxes" on a sheet that stood a little higher than the book, and placed it inside the book.
This little book storage can be used for just about anything. Right now I have a couple note pads and some special cd's. But it also could be used to place photos in that you are getting ready to put into an album. Or even put the photos on mats and just keep them in there. I hope you check all the product out!! Crafty Gals Corner Challenge #60

There's a new challenge at Crafty Gals Corner! This week the challenge is Anything Goes! I love Anything Goes!!
This week our Sponsors are:

The Stamping Boutique
Prize: 2 Digital Images

Karleigh Sue
Prize: 4 Digital Images

Sasayaki Glitter

Prize: 1 Digital Images

Here is my project:

The first thing I always do, is color my digital. I always look to the picture as my inspiration for what I design with it. This is a card, but it would make a great tag, too! Have you noticed how I like tags? Lol. Then my next step is to decide what size of card foundation I want, and cut out my base. I thought, since she was outside, this would make a great Nature Theme. So then I thought I'd mount her on a butterfly I had cut out with my Big Shot. I then mounted her onto a red piece of Columns paper (all my paper is from Paper Temptress), which I had stamped with a small butterfly. I made a flower out of Neenah paper and colored it with red ink from CTMH. The antenna for the butterfly is actually stamen, and the little red "head" is a dot of hot glue I colored up after it hardened. I added the little bow at the bottom, because it just looked empty down there. And of course, flat back pearls are doubled up on the bottom.

Please join us over at the Crafty Gals Corner! We all love seeing your projects!

Valentine Topiary
I love topiaries! But this is the first time I've made one for Valentines. It was a Pinterest inspired challenge over at the Chic Craftique Facebook page. Here it is:

I wasn't sure at first how to go about it, but finally decided....hello, Jeanie!....get a clay pot and paint it....go from there! I used Gesso to prep my surface. Before I added the laces, I worked on the heart...hot gluing laces and ribbon on, and also wrap pearl lace down the dowel. I added styrofoam to the pot and added the "grass" on top of that. I placed that into the pot. I trailed ribbon down and behind the butterfly I had added to the front of the pot. My next step was to add the laces and rose ribbon around the pot, then hot glue a heart onto the front of the pot.

Sometimes when I start a project, I tend to make it harder on myself than necessary. But this was actually quick and easy to do. I have it sitting on top of my buffet now....I may put it up long after Valentine's Day has come and gone! ;-)

Conie Fong Tag
I love Conie's images! Here is a tag I created using an image from Conie Fong:

I use various items to make my tags. This one is actually from a package of paper that had the thin cardboard in it.  So I cut some of it off and made my base  Then I cut and distressed the edges of 2 different sheets of paper (overall dimension of tag is 4 1/4"x 8 1/2"). I layered with lace and various items.  The butterlies were made with an image I stamped, cut out, and "blinged up". See the little copper flowers? They're wood chips I embossed with TH copper embossing powder.

Conie currently has a challenge and a DT call going on. Please check them out here.
I hope you join in!
Blessings, Jeanie - Scrapbookingmamaw

I have entered this into the challenge:
Tag You're It Challenge - My inspiration for this tag is Jeanne's tag (and not just because of the name. Lol). While the images are quite different, the added decor to it and flowers give that extra little "punch" to the tag. Embellishments, yes....and yet clean and simple

English Lady - Front

Side View

Inside

I had trouble deciding which card I wanted to do...there are so many to choose from! Which one?? I finally decided on the "Smash Fold" card. It was really easy to do. I used paper I had in my stash from Creative Memories (Divine). I was a consultant a few years ago, so I decided this paper was perfect for her. My digital is called "English Lady". She's so dainty, isn't she? I used the Heavenly White #80 from Paper Temptress and all the coloring is with the Prismacolors. I sure can't wait until my new colors come in!

The inside can be decorated all over. I didn't want to "overload" it, so I just kept it simple. :-)

Be sure to join us!! I can't wait to see your entries!!

Mixed Media Project

My favorite thing to do, apparently, is mixed media or mixed media tags. I love how a thought comes to mind, and then re-creating it onto a canvas of some kind. Sometimes I use art canvas, sometimes wood, sometimes chipboard...whatever comes to me at the time! I always start by prepping the surface with Gesso so whatever I put on can adhere properly. The I either start stenciling, or adding colors. It always depends on what I plan on doing. With this piece, I started stenciled first, then added layers of colors. This time, I used a lot of the Glimmer Mist sprays, and also some Prima. For the heart, I traced an outline so I could follow it when I layered my ruffled lace onto it. Then I began adding all the embellishments and lastly, the sentiment.

The challenge was for Reneabouquets, so most of the items...and of course the butterflies!....came from her shop.

Try your hand at it, if you haven't! Feel free to post your picture here on my blog! I'd love to see them!

Blessings,

It's time for another PT Project! Check out the blog site here. I love working with these papers! They are very versatile, and the White Skinny Columns paper are very easy to ink! The inks go on smoothly, and you can still see the columns. And wet embossing! I love doing that on these papers. Here is my project for this week:

Miss Patricia, owner of Paper Temptress, posted a shadow box tutorial onto PT Facebook page, so I got the idea from there. Here is the link to the tutorial: Making a Shadow Box Tutorial  (La-La Land Crafts). Now, while I had to adjust my dimensions for what I was doing, the tutorial is where I got the method. So all credit goes to her.

All paper is from PT: White Skinny Column Paper, The background Kraft paper, the Glossy Yellow paper, and the Pink Mica/Metallic paper. The yellow Feathered Edge ribbon is also from there.

The digital was a free image I got from the Sassy Studio Designs Facebook page. Go take a look! If you enter their challenges, you can get some free digis! :-) And by now, I imagine you know that I got my Sand Glass Glitter and Butterfly from Reneabouquets! ;-)  The glitter in the green blue section is from Gone Artsy. Both of these shops have such unique and beautiful items.

Challenge #58 - Crafty Gals Corner

We are already going strong into February of 2016! Goodness! The time is flying! This week over at Crafty Gals Corner
the challenge is Sweethearts!

Just add a heart to your project! Doesn't have to be Valentine's.

Our sponsor this week is:

This week I chose the Snowflake Fairy for my project. And then, I realized...duh! She's a Snowflake Fairy so how do I incorporate hearts into this? My brain power had to get an extra boost of "thinking cap" on! So I decided to make a tag. When all else fails, make a mixed media tag, I say! ;-) Here she is:

I'm a big fan of Paper Temptress' papers, so every bit of this is from Patricia's shop. I used the Heavenly White #80 paper for my digital and the White Skinny Column, which I colored with Tim Holtz distress inks. This paper works well with inks, and yet you can still see the "columns". One of my favorite papers! Again, I used my Prismacolors, but I have put in an order for another type of medium to experiment with. When they come in, you'll be the first to see what I do with them! All laces come from Cindy's Lighthouse stop n' shop Facebook page. I used Clear Wink of Stella all over my fairy and Glossy Accents on parts. The large snowflake was wet embossed using the double clear embossing powder I had in my stash. Once I did all that, I was "on a roll", as they say, and came up with the sentiment.

I hope you join in on our challenge! I always enjoy looking at all the entries! There's so many talented people!

Blessings!

Lacy Digital Stamp - Nikki Burnett
VALENTINE TAG ALBUM

She was so fun to do. And, while I'm not a huge fan of Pink....although I do like it....I colored her totally in pink!  And of course, I used my Prismacolors. I cut out the chipboard heart and paper with my Creative Memories Cutting System. Every bit of the paper and the pink ribbon, is from the Paper Temptress. The solid pink is the Azalea Mica/Metallic paper. The printed is also from PT, and it is a Hambly Screenprint, but I believe this one is no longer available. But isn't the print lovely? I also got the Pink Feathered Edge ribbon from PT. It went perfectly with it! I colored the butterfly and added Diamond Glass Glitter from Reneabouquets. The butterflies on the front are also from Renea's.

I hope you enjoyed my project. Please come back and share with your friends!

Blessings, Jeanie

Paper Temptress DT Project

Hello, fellow crafters! I'm excited to share with you another card project for the Paper Temptress Design Team! Today I am using some of my favorite papers from PT. They are #1 in my book! I used a tutorial from Through the Craft Room Door (TTCRD) Magazine by Sandra van Blaricum I got the digital free on Sassy Studio Designs (Marilyn) on Facebook.
Here are the papers that I used for my card:   Heavenly White #80, along with the Black and Gold Skinny Column I received from the package special. These papers were perfect to give Miss Marilyn the glam and sparkle she loved! Be sure to go to the Paper Temptress website and check out all the wonderful papers! Oh, and FYI: these papers are easy to wet emboss on, too!
