Outlawz Color Challenge Nov 29th

Hello, everyone! It's that time again! Another new Color Challenge has begun this week over at The Outlawz! Our sponsor for the month of November is Newton's Nook:
For our challenge this week, we are going with Monochromatic. Although the inspiration photo is in blue, you may pick any color. I chose Shades of Brown. Here's the inspiration photo:
I had been gifted a digital image by someone. The image is from MHK Designs, Birds and Blooms. I absolutely love this digital! Here is my project:

I embossed a white piece of cardstock and adhered it to a piece of brown and white paper of which I had cut out an oval in the middle. I put my scripture sentiment in the middle of that. I made 3 flowers of different browns, adhered them to the bottom left corner of the card, and added several white leaves around the flowers. At the top left I added a butterfly with brown tones (available through Reneabouquets).  I then added flat white pearls at the bottom right corner and the top right corner.

I did distress the edges of the card and flowers to give it a little more dimension.

I hope you come by and join us for this week's challenge! Share your creations with us!

Crafty Gals Corner Challenge

Hello, crafters! Today starts a new Challenge week here at Crafty Gals Corner! I hope you will join us! The challenge is 3 OF A KIND! Here are our sponsors for this week:

Prize: 3 digital images below

Conie Fong
Prize: 3 digital images
So, here is my project for this week...yes, another tag. 😉 I LOVE tags...have I told you that already? Lol. I'm sure I have! I used Ariela Mermaid by Conie Fong. This little mermaid deserved special attention, so I hope I did her justice! Here she is:
So for the base of the card, I used some paper I had in my stash. Then I took a piece of cardstock and distressed inked it with various colors to give a watery blue to it. I colored Ariela with my Prismacolors. After layering the inked paper to the base paper, I used Aleen's Tacky Glue to the lower area and added Mica Fragments to that. I brushed off any excess after it dried. I then layered her on top of that. I added laces at the bottom and a sentiment at the top. Here are my 3 of a Kind: 3 pink shells, 3 flower embellishments, and 3 pink pearl.

I hope you come join us this week! You'll have a lot of fun...and we love looking at what you've created each week!

Outlawz Color Challenge Nov 22nd

Hello, everyone! Today starts a new Color Challenge over at the Outlawz, and because it's my birthday and my turn to decide the challenge, I chose this photo inspiration:
And in case you can't read the Twist at the bottom, it's "Make it for a Birthday!" I have a twin sister...so this is perfect for her! Our sponsor for this month is  Newton's Nook Designs with an amazing $20 store credit!

Here is my project, a Gift Card.

What's kind of funny, is that I just happened to have the Gift Card that is inside (unfortunately, it's expired...rats!). The colors go pretty good with the project even. Lol. I didn't make up this card. I actually got it from Lisa's Stamp Studio....link HERE. While I couldn't find the exact link, I wanted to at least give credit where credit is due. Maybe before I get done with the blog, I'll find it. But no luck so far. The card base was cut 4x8", and folded in half. And then a piece of 4x4" cardstock cut in half at an angle for the inside.

The digital image I used was actually a free one from a blog called Kajsansscrapblog. She has a lot of free digitals there, and they are adorable! I used the Pippi birthday image.

I hope you will stop by the Color Challenge blog and join in on the fun! You could win a prize!

Conie Fong - Guest Designer Project

Hello once again, crafty peeps! Today I have the honor and privilege of sharing with you another project as a Guest Designer with Conie Fong Art & Design Facebook group. I absolutely LOVE her images. They are very adorable and yet so realistic. If you haven't seen them yet, please be sure to visit her shop!

I used a new Christmas image, Holly Poinsettia. I looked at her image, and thought how much she looked like she wanted to give these poinsettias to someone special. And then I thought, a gift needs a tag. So when I saw this tutorial on a Gift Tag Mini File Box, I just had to make it! So instead of giving you the instructions on how to do it, just follow the link. Here are my images:

Of course, I always use my Prismacolors to color my digital. Well, almost always. Sometimes I use my Silhouette to color the image. I found a free image of poinsettias from Graphics Fairy. They have some beautiful free images you can download! I did use my Silhouette to cut out the tags and the poinsettias next to Holly. :-) And also to cut her out.

Please be sure to visit Conie's Facebook page and her shop! You won't be disappointed in what you found at either place!

Cuddly Cute Designs DT Project

Hello once again, fellow crafters! Today, Friday, is my day to share with you another project I've done for Cuddly Cute Designs. And they are so cuddly-looking! I decided that rather doing a card, I'd do another tag. I LOVE tags. In fact...I have a ton of fun making them! So without further adieu, here is my tag using the I Heart U Bear collection:
I first of all started by cutting out my pieces using my Silhouette. And then put together the blocks, then the bear, and layering the bear onto the blocks so as to be able to adhere them together. Then I again used my Silhouette cutting out 2 layers of cardstock for the tag. I adhered them together, then cut out a chalk printed cardstock and centered that onto the white, then a green polka dot strip through the center of the chalk cardstock. I mounted my Bear onto the green. I added lace from Gone Artsy, who, unfortunately, will be closing their doors on December 31st. Sad for those of us who loved shopping there. 😔

I then layered pearl drops on top of the lace, and a strand of pearls on the top of that and at the top of the card. I added resin flowers, a sentiment in the bottom middle, and a pink flower at the top left. I wasn't sure the colors would all work together, but I was pleasantly surprised that it worked, and looked very colorful, which is what I wanted.

I hope you enjoy this and that you will visit us on the Facebook page. Show us what you've created!

Crafty Gals Corner Challenge #98

It's time for another challenge over at Crafty Gals Corner
This week the challenge is Any Holiday!

Our sponsors this week are:
Prize: 3 Digital Images
Prize: $20 gift Certificate

Now that you know what awesome prizes we're giving away, let me show you my project card:
I'm using the image from The Paper Nest Dolls, Vintage Carolers. I bought this beautiful green, white, black, and red paper and thought it would be perfect for the carolers. I had colored them using my Silhouette, so it was an awesome find that they matched so well! I cut out the image, lamp post, poinsettias, and music note with my Silhouette also.

Then I mounted it all on the striped paper, and mounted that on top of a black card base. Added some polka dots, and she was done!

I hope you join us this week at Crafty Gals Corner! You never know...you just might win!

Outlawz Color Challenge Nov 15th

Hello, crafters! Today I want to share with you a Christmas Card I did for this week's Outlawz Color Challenge sponsored by

And now, here's the inspirational photo:

Isn't it a gorgeous photo??? I love it! Now here's my project:
I used the Frozen Pansy image from Lacy Sunshine. Isn't she cute? I love that cute little image. Now, I wanted to keep the theme of colors as close to the original as possible, even on her hair. So I made it like a snowy white. The little flowers in the inspiration reminded me of snowflakes, so snowflakes were added into my card. I used various pinks and golds, and I saw a green-yellow color in the inspiration, hence my yellowy-green leaves.

I cut out the Let It Snow sentiment with my Silhouette (LOVE it!). I mounted her onto a green and white polka dot cardstock, and then onto the pink foundation. I added lace at the bottom and a heat embossed snowflake at the top.

I hope you come join us this week! We LOVE seeing your creativity!!

Cuddly Cute Designs DT

Hello, fellow crafty peeps! I'm here today to show you another way to use the images from Cuddly Cute Designs! They are a lot of fun to work with, for sure! Unless you have technical issues...my machine just wouldn't cooperate today! Lol. But I pressed on. That's what we do, right?

Here it is:
I paper pieced the 2 birds, the flower in the middle (which I wanted one to "pop" so I put another one on top), the branch, and the heart. After I layered and adhered all of the pieces, I put a lace around the heart to "frame" it and at the bottom. Then I layered pearls on top of the bottom lace, sparkly rhinestones around the inside perimeter of the heart, flowers at the top of the heart, and used Glossy Accents on parts of the birds with Diamond Glitter Glass from Reneabouquets.

I hope you come join us at our Facebook page. Show us what you did! We love seeing your work!

Crafty Gals Corner #97

Hello, crafty peeps! Today starts the new week of another challenge over at Crafty Gals Corner! This week the challenge is
Use a Sentiment !

Our sponsor this week is:

Lacy Sunshine
Prize: 3 Digital Images

Here's a bit about our sponsor:
"Heather Valentin  is  creative ,  award winning,  modern-day  fantasy and  whimsical  artist who has displayed a dynamic and vibrant energy while painting professionally for over 18 years.
She  began to express herself creatively through movement at a very young age.
For many years she studied dance, being drawn to forms that allowed creative self expression, all the while feeling this constant urge to create with her hands. The canvas is now her dance floor where color, beauty and drama are expressed through her every pencil sketch and  brush stroke. Her  subjects vary from fairies, fantasy, mermaids, vampires, dragons, wildlife, abstract and more. She is one who is inspired in a single moment. Her  dreams, moods and the the unfolding beauty of the world around her is what charts her dance for the day. She is most alive when sketching and painting, creating timeless pieces that reflect her heart and soul. Drawing breathes life into her soul- it enables her to reach out and touch lives. This gives her a place in the world one character and painting at a time.
Heather's  artist portfolio  has  expanded to include such  clients  as   Pepsi, Outback Steakhouse, Nabisco, Zephryhils  and can now be found  at Laguna Art, Third Stone Art Gallery and Sausalito Art Galleries, along with commercial and private collections across the globe. "

So now, it's time to show you my DT project for this week. I have a "thing" about doing tags....I LOVE IT! They are so versatile to do! Here is my project:
For this week I'm using the Lacy Sunshine image, Glass Slipper Enchantress.  Again, I always start out coloring my image first, before doing anything else. And although you may not see it very well, she has a lot of sparkle on her shoe as I wanted to give it the appearance of glass. Plus I put pink stickles on her dress. Once I was done with that, I cut out my 1st layer for the tag while she was drying. I then added the 2nd layer. Before adhering the layers, I distressed them using the Tim Holtz distress tool. I mounted the 2nd layer onto a thin piece of chipboard. I layered 2 pieces of lace that I got from Gone Artsy.I also added pearl drops on top of the laces, then a pink satin flower in the center with some white leaves, a little black sprig of flowers, and several tiny flowers all over. At the top, I had stenciled a heart.

I hope you enjoy this tag, and that you join us in the challenge this week!

Blessings and Happy Crafting,
Jeanie Ellis - Scrapbookingmamaw

Outlawz Color Challenge - Nov 8th

Hello, fellow crafters! Today starts the new Color Challenge over at the Outlawz! This week, we have a new challenge using this inspiration photo colors:

Aren't these colors just gorgeous?? And to add snowflakes...how fun is that? I was totally excited about using these colors, because I had the perfect image to use for my card. The image is from Faery Ink, but I'm not sure if it's available anymore. Here is my card:
I colored once again with my Prismacolors and added my embellishments and "extras" to the tree (Diamond Glass Glitter - Reneabouquets and Tim Holtz tinsel). Love that tinsel!

After the glass glitter dried, I mounted the tree onto the red/white piece, then mounted that onto a snowflake teal color photo mat, then that onto a gray photo mat, and then used a red cardstock as the card base. I added pearls to each side of the tree and a sentiment at the top. I'm one of those who prefers to say "Merry Christmas" rather than Happy Holidays or Season's Greetings. But I unfortunately didn't have one in the right color so I used the Season's Greetings. The color was perfect for my project, especially since it had snowflakes on the right side of the sentiment. I did add lace between the red/white cardstock and the teal snowflake paper.

It took a while to do only because in order to use the glass glitter, I had to use Glossy Accents to keep the glitter on. Glass Glitter is one of my favorite pieces to use for any project!

Please hop on over to the Color Challenge at the Outlawz! And join us!

Happy Crafting!

Paper Temptress Card Project

Hello, crafters! It's Friday...I normally don't post on Fridays, but I wanted to help a fellow DT as she is a bit under the weather. I've had some help me...this is "pay it forward" time!

I'm not sure if you can tell or not, but the image is actually a paper piecing I did using the Pumpkin Spice collection from Cuddly Cute Designs. Paper piecing is actually what it says it is: piecing paper pieces together. Sometimes it may seem a bit tedious, but the results are just fantastic and very satisfying!

Here are the papers that I used (almost all of the paper is from PT): Ponderosa Pine Classic LinenFlame Mica/Metallic (the orange colors you see), Cryogen Iridescent WhiteIvory Classic Skinny ColumnsLambswool Feltweave, and Ivory Feltweave. The black was paper I had in my stash.

I hope you like my project! Be sure to come back every day for a new designer project!

Crafty Gals Corner 11/2/16

Hi again, crafters! We are starting a new challenge this week over at the Crafty Gals Corner. This week the challenge is ANYTHING BUT A CARD! And here are our sponsors:

Polkadoodles

Prize: $15 Gift Certificate

Prize: 1 digital image

Prize: 2 Digital Images
This is very short blog today, as I decided to make a Gift Bag using my image as the highlight/focus to my bag. I got the tutorial from Persephone's Papercraft YouTube Channel.

Once again, I used my Prismacolors to color in the little shepherd boy and a slight gray color on the lamp around the edges. I was very pleased with the results. Here is my bag:
I used the image A Star is Born by All Dressed Up. I did once again use my Silhouette to cut it all out. So much easier than hand cutting!

I hope you join us for the challenge this week! It's anything but a card...I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Outlawz Color Challenge Nov 1

Hello again, crafters! It's time for another Color Challenge over at The Outlawz! For this project, I made a Christmas Card Tag, using a Conie Fong image called Sally and Snowball. This is probably one of my favorites tags. The photo doesn't do it justice, as it has a lot of glitter and shine to it in person! So, the challenge, we were to use any colors but NO traditional Christmas colors.

I always start with coloring my digital first, and then I can decide what size and dimensions I need for my tag. I used glitter cardstock I had bought from Hobby Lobby. Once I put the glitter card stock on top of the tag base, I added pearls around the 2 sides and top of the tag. Then I added laces and pearl drops at the bottom. At the top I used a gold strand for the hanger, a sentiment on top of more glitter paper, flowers at the bottom, and a pink butterfly from Reneabouquets at the top. Also, before I forget, I used foam squares so she wouldn't be flat onto the card.

Here she is:
I hope you can join us for this challenge! It'll be fun and challenging to use something other than traditional colors! :-)

Blessings, Jeanie Ellis - Scrapbookingmamaw
