I got to use the lovely image of Ashlee Faerie Locks. Here is my card:

Because of the shape of the image, I decided I'd go ahead and make a slimline card this time around. I love slimline cards (and the mini-slimline cards). They're different and so fun! Of course, the first thing I did was to print and color my image. I used my Tri-Blend color markers for this. Once I got done with that, I adhered her to the card base. Then I added some clear shimmer marker just about everywhere on her....lol! I love anything blingy or shiner! Know what I mean? 😉

I figured she needed something at the top left of the card, and since I wasn't quite sure yet who or what occasion I was going to use it for, I decided to just put a flower there. I had bought some flowers at a hobby store and pulled the heads off so I could reattach them in a more "flower looking" state. Then I added the rhinestone.

So here is the card I made, using the cutest little snow couple! I absolutely love this image! It was so fun to color! I used my Spectrum Noir markers to color it on paper from Paper Temptress. I also added some snow flake stickers that I had been gifted by an overseas friend. I then added my sentiment by Close to My Heart. And then of course I matted it using papers from CTMH (Close to My Heart)

I absolutely love the image I used! Mine is Teapot from Doctor Digi.  I did a fairly clean and simple card. I colored in the image after I had stamped a sentiment in the middle of the teapot. Then I mounted it on 2 sheets of cardstock, gave it a little gold trimming and a gold embellishment, added some wheat and acorn stamps, and it was done! It didn't take long at all, and I absolutely LOVE it! Here it is:

So there you have it! I hope that this will inspire you to create your own card for the challenge! And remember, it doesn't have to be full of embellishments to make it look good!

The Power of Practice Card Blog Hop!

Hello, fellow crafters....that means YOU! And welcome to the 

POWER OF PRACTICE BLOG HOP! 

In this Blog Hop, you will see designers who have come a long ways in their card making skills! (Below is the list of the line-up of designers). Take a look at their beginnings and where they are today. And now....

For those who are just starting out in your card making, I have something very important to tell you....PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE! Yep, that's what I said. If you have a desire to start making cards or you've already just started, BRAVO for you! And if you look at your card and say...UGH! This sure isn't as good as the others I've seen! Well, take heart, my crafty friend....everyone has had to start somewhere! So don't give up! All it takes is practice. Even if it's just a few minutes a day or week....DON'T GIVE UP!

So, let me share with you a card I made for my first Design Team project (I'm actually surprised they accepted me). I totally was learning...totally! Here it is (from My Besties):

Now, while this isn't my very first card...I have no idea where that is...it is one of my very first cards! I was learning at that time how to actually color the images. The fancy fold design was ok, but that coloring! I had a lot to learn! And, I'm still on that Design Team!

Here is one of my most recent cards I made using an image from Stephanie Sybile Art:

One of the things I did as I went along, was look at a lot of YouTube, Pinterest, and fellow designers to get ideas and tutorials on how to color, adjust the size of images, and so on. And then I'd practice doing those things. After doing thousands and thousands of cards...okay, maybe not thousands...I have come a long way, but I am still practicing. There is always room for improvement! But the point is, DON'T GIVE UP! If it's truly something you want to do, then it's important that you KEEP GOING!

I got the cutest little image to work with - Briar Berry Spry Fairy. Here she is:

I colored this little cutie with my Spectrum Noir color markers.  After that, I layered her with 2 mats in designer series papers. With the theme being Add a Flower, I added the white flower, even though she had flowers in her hair and my red paper had flowers. I thought it needed a little touch. :)

Instead of making a typical card for Father's Day, I decided to do a bit of wall art for my honey. I made a mixed media background, and placed my car right into the center. Here is my project:

Outlawz Color Challenge - June 4th, 2019

Hello crafters! Today The Outlawz began a new fortnight Color Challenge! And I must admit...I LOVE the challenge! (insert *wink wink* here.....cause I chose the challenge!! hahaha.) I really had a great time with it! But before we go on, here is our amazing sponsor for the month of June:

I've enlarged the photo so you could see the colors better. Isn't she beautiful?? And I love the colors! Now here is my card:

I did this card a little differently than I normally have done in the past. I wanted to use as many of the colors as possible in the inspiration, so I took some Deco Foil and heated it onto my card foundation, then I added a strip of glitter Washi tape in the middle, adding some embellishments on the card with a sentiment. The ballerina is from Imagine That; She was a silhouette that I also foiled and added a "tutu" on her with an embellishment for her "belt". I love the way she turned out!

I admit I have used this digital, The Lady, once before, but she's such a fun digital I had to take a go at her again! I used my Spectrum Noir color markers on her. I also used papers from The Paper Temptress. I took a Sizzix Die Cut that add flowers and leave on it, and placed it behind her. I forgot to angle the die cut to get more of the floral to show, but you can still see some peeking through. I layered it on top of the white, and then added my colored digital. I then sprayed some liquid adhesive on after I placed her on top, and then sprinkled a little glitter on. Then I added the flower and floral lace to the side.

I've got to tell you....I love The Paper Shelter! Their images are just beautiful and so fun to color! And yes....I am late posting, as we have just moved plus faced several health issues all around...but here I am now! *smiles*

Let me share with you my card. I decided to go along with a Gatefold Card. Since I don't have everything in my craft room yet, I thought that would be the easiest thing for me to do. Here it is:

I used the pre-colored image, which was a big help for me. I love the fact they offer that option! To make the gate fold, I cut out a 9"x5 1/4" cardstock, and folded each end of the long side at 2 1/4". This made the middle 4 1/2". I printed out the background and cut it in half, and put each half on the outside of the small ends. I then adhered my image to the front only on one side of the gate, and added stickles to give her some shine. 

I decided to make this Christmas card really fun, I added some deco foil on the sentiment inside, plus the background of the sentiment. This gave it quite the sparkle!

Wow! It was so hard to pick one image to do for this challenge, as all 3 sponsors are fantastic! But in the end, I have chosen to do Beach Baby by Creative Bug.  What a cute title for a cute little image. So here is my card:

There it is, in all it's Tropical colors glory! Lol! I'd say there are plenty of them on there, wouldn't you? I added some diamond glass glitter on the sand to make it more "sandy" looking, but the picture here doesn't show that. However, the shadowing on the sand from the artist, made it look sandy. So...it was all good! I did use Bone China Ink Oxide for the cloudy background.
